How long are your programmes (weeks and hours)?

Our standard programme is held immediately after school for 1 hour and typically lasts for 8 weeks. However, Mad Science can accommodate program requests of as few as 4 to as many as 12 weeks. We will be happy to discuss your specific requirements!

Who pays for an after-school programme?

Typically, after-school programmes are paid for by parents. In some cases, perhaps when family incomes are lower, schools decide to subsidise, or pay for some, or all, of the places on the programme. This is not a requirement of our free assembly and is entirely at the discretion of the school.

Is the Whole School Assembly really free? Is there a catch?

No! There is no catch! We are a community interest company running our after school programmes on a not-for-profit basis so we LOVE to reach as many pupils as possible with our shows for free. We do, however, need schools to offer our club to parents and provide a classroom for the club to run in.

Who is the programme suitable for?

Our Assembly is suitable for the WHOLE SCHOOL!We engage children from reception to KS2, each age-group getting something different and memorable from the experience. For After School Clubs - we can offer programmes to KS1, KS2 and KS3. Schools can opt to offer to just one key stage if they wish.

Who deals with registration?

Our presenter will bring flyers to school to go home with each child. We also ask school to text/email out a link to our booking website. All registration is ONLINE, so no hassle for your office team to deal with! We can share progress of registrations in real time so you can see how it's going.

If we have enough interest what does school need to provide?

Just a couple of things. We need a classroom for one hour after school on a weekly basis for the duration of the club. We also need there to be a first-aid trained member of staff on site as not all of our presenters are qualified first aiders. ALL equipment and materials are provided by us

Who will come to deliver our after school programme

Our presenters are highly trained, reliable and great with kids. We only recruit people with prior experience of working with children, and provide further training to them. Our CRB-checked, fully insured staff arrive equipped with everything need for the session and leave everything neat and tidy!

How many children do we need to run the club?

If 15 or more children sign up then we will come to you and run the club at your school! The vast majority of the time we get a great response. If there are insufficient numbers we simply thank you for letting us deliver our free show. Schools may subsidise or pay for places at their own discretion
